Nobel laureates, low interest rate policy, the complete range of the property industry – our author Marianne Schulze has taken a look at the conference program.
The conference program has been on the EXPO REAL homepage for some time and you can click through the topics and participants. Of course, we all have different interests, depending on the area in which we work, but there are always events which are generally exciting and eye-opening.
A Nobel Prize Winner and Many Masterminds
It is the EXPO REAL FORUM in particular which offers topics of “overriding interest”. This year my highlight will be the “Masterminds” on the last day of the trade fair – after all, when do you get the opportunity to follow a Nobel Prize Winner’s thoughts? From 10:00 to 12:00 Professor Dr. Joseph Stiglitz will first speak about “Uncertainties in Economics and Politics: What matters? What is the impact on real estate?“ and will then discuss this topic with other “Masterminds” from the industry.
Controversial Low Interest Rate Policy
It is the EXPO REAL FORUM in particular which offers an opening session on “The economy overall and the property sector” right on the first day, in which – among others – the director of the ifo Institut, Professor Dr. Clemens Fuest, will explain his view of the current economic situation. One of the issues to be addressed will be whether the low interest rate policy will continue, and if so, for how long. Certainly a controversial finance policy instrument, low interest rates drive the boom on the property investment markets and are at least partly responsible for high prices and low yields.
Topics from all Areas of the Property Sector
And what else? The many events at the forums of EXPO REAL offer specially customized topics for each area of the property sector – from looking at individual markets, as at the INVESTMENT LOCATIONS FORUM, to questions of urban development at the INTELLIGENT URBANIZATION FORUM, and individual segments, such as retail and retail properties at the GRAND PLAZA or hotels, housing and retirement and nursing properties at the SPECIAL REAL ESTATE FORUM. In brief: Nobody should complain about an insufficient gambit of information at EXPO REAL – everybody will find something interesting.
