CareerDay on the third day of the trade fair
Every survey on the topic of “jobs and careers” conducted by Immobilien Zeitung shows that EXPO REAL is used as a platform for recruiting fresh talent within the property sector. HR staff do user their own booths to conduct interviews with potential applicants every day of the trade fair. Plus, almost two dozen exhibitors appear in the “Career Corner.” It comes as no surprise that many of them are in attendance for the first time, as even prestigious companies are suffering from staff shortages.
Platform for making the initial contact
In the battle for talent, the trade fair can serve as a platform for making the initial contact. Here companies and applicants can gage whether they are compatible and if further discussions might be worthwhile. If so, an internship, student placement, or apprenticeship might be arranged. For instance, Industria Wohnen is offering two apprenticeships for property agents this year, while Comfort is seeking Junior Consultants for Investment and Leasing. BNP Paribas Real Estate is not only looking for interns and placement students but also apprentices and those interested in a dual study program. To ensure that there will be enough candidates in attendance at the venue, we have personally invited 40 property management students from the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences to the Career Corner.
Help with the next step in your career
Sometimes the trade fair has a long-term impact, with the first meeting there being remembered after graduation and making any subsequent conversations much smoother. At the same time, those that have already entered into the professional world are sure to take some useful advice away with them from Career Day that will help with the next step in their careers.
